Map of the Movement

  • Large-scale change is hard. It requires the efforts of many people and organizations working in concert. The good news is that committed groups across the country are working on making real change and more people step forward every day, willing to use their talents to transform the world. The Map of the Movement is a tool to not only capture the scope of the efforts tackling these urgent problems, but also a way to form new connections: to plug in to a local or national group that’s already working in your area of interest, or to find another group across the country that might have wisdom to share.

  • Zoom in by Geography: You can enter a zip code in the search box above the map or use your mouse to pan and zoom to your region of interest.

Filter by Vital Condition or Multisolver: Press the orange “Filter Options” button in the upper left corner to see the different problems and solutions that the communities are working on. Limit the display to those of your interest by checking only the associated checkboxes.

Combine Conditions and Geography: After you find the local organizations and individuals that work on your causes in your area, you can zoom out to your state level and see organizations that operate state-wide within your state. Tip: When looking at the state-level, hide the organizations that operate at the local level by unchecking the “Movement Builders - Local Organization” green pins in the legend box. After that, zoom out to the national level, and again adjust the legend filter to hide state-level operations in this view

General Search: Use the search box on the left (just to the right of filter options) to search by a name or other keyword.
