Climate change is impacting our personal and community life today. A thriving natural world is one of the vital conditions for well-being. Communities of color and low-income communities are more likely to have poor environments. Climate change thus amplifies inequalities in housing, food, healthcare, and employment.
Environmental justice refers to values, policies, and behaviors that create a safe and healthy natural environment. Environmental justice is linked to economic justice. Jobs, housing, healthcare, and civic muscle are all important to both environmental and economic justice. Our economy can change to promote environmental justice.
